Riad Carina

Riad Carina is built and decorated in a charming traditional Berber style. You will be charmed by the authenticity of our Riad and by the traditional and friendly Moroccan welcome that you will receive upon arrival.

The Patio of the Riad Carina is the central place to sit, to eat, to meet or simply to relax. Even during a hot summer day you will feel a fresh atmosphere in the sun covered Patio with its cooling water basin. Relax at the salon or other charming corners of the Patio.

On the first floor of the Riad Carina you will find the main guestroom area. From here you can overlook the Patio on the ground floor and see the blue sky of Marrakech. All 5 guestrooms and especially the Junior Suite Harissa are decorated in the same natural style. You will find natural stones and clay as well as the special Moroccan painting in tadlakt, terracotta tiles and hand-basin in zellige. In all rooms here at the Riad Carina you will have free Wireless LAN access.

On the Riad Carina’s large terrace with a unique view on Palais El Badi, you can relax in the flowery pergola or under the shade of the olive trees in the vast terrace with company from the nesting storks. In the morning, a varied breakfast or brunch will be served wherever you want, either on the terrace, in the Patio or in your room. After a day in the Medina, a mint tea with pastries will be offered in the afternoon, and for dinner either a Moroccan or International cuisine is available if you decide to chill out "at home".

Enjoy the marvellous safe location of Riad Carina in the central Medina of Marrakech. Only 5 minutes from the famous Djemaa El Fna square, next to Palais El Badi and 5 minutes from Dar Si Said museum. Easy car and parking access.

Eating at Riad Carina

At Riad Carina, we prepare very delicious and romantic candle-light dinners for our guests.. We prepare the diner only on demand and after individual choice of our guests with the best and freshest ingredients that you could get on the daily markets.

The most traditional dinner in Marrakech is the “Tagine” that our cook prepares with different kind of meat like lamb, beef, chicken and also each one with different ingredients and spices. Even our vegetarian Tagines are very delicious.

Each dinner includes a variation of different Moroccan salads, a Tagine for the main course and for sure a delicious dessert.

The price per person is 19.00 € (drinks are not included)

Our single-day cooking lessons are designed for anyone of our guests - from beginners to real cooking specialists. Our cook will introduce you to the basics and the subtleties of the Moroccan cuisine as well as the different ways to flavor the meals. Your lesson will be a hands-on experience in Moroccan cuisine as well as its culture.

In the morning we will visit the local markets in Marrakech together to buy your fresh ingredients and afterwards it is time to prepare your dinner together in our Riad-Kitchen. In the evening, we will serve you your dinner in the charming atmosphere of our Riad – a real experience for all your senses…

Finally you will receive a booklet with a selection of Moroccan recipes.

The price is 35.00 € per person (minimum 2 persons).

Activities and Excursions

Riad Carina can arrange excursions and activities to make your stay in Marrakech even more memorable.

• Ourika Valley / Setti-Fatma
  
  The most popular excursion in the High Atlas is without doubt to the Ourika Valley. After crossing a grim landscape, there are impressive views of the Atlas, whose summits suddenly appear to the visitor’s eyes. At the end of the valley lies Setti-Fatma, a very attractive and picturesquely village.



• Asni Berber village
  
  We would also recommend a trip to the Berber village Asni, only 48 kilometres from Marrakech. It lies at a height of 1,150 metres above sea level and is surrounded by the peaks of the Grand Atlas, which at the summit of Toubkal reaches a maximum of 4,167 metres. Asni has an interesting Kasbah.



• Oukaimeden
  
  In the same direction like Ourika valley, 77 kilometres from Marrakech and at a height of 2,650 metres above sea level, there is the ski resort of Oukaimeden, where winter sports may be practised for several months of the year thanks to its perfectly equipped ski runs. Ski rental possible (old stuff!)



• Essaouira
  
  The city of Essaouira appears as if by magic, surrounded by water, sand and flora, white and shining, its attractive silhouette standing between the sea and the dunes of the desert. There are many lovely gardens within the city, forming areas of delicious coolness. The outstanding monuments here are the Porte de la Marine, the Sqala in the Kasbah and the sanctuary of Moulay Abd el-Kader el Jilali. There is also a splendid beach at Essaouira with fine sand. The excursion to Essaouira is a taff trip for one day.
