Five En-suite Guest Rooms

Riad Laksiba is the product of an amazing restoration. The English owner has subtly blended the authentic 'Old Palace' style with simple modern design to transform this traditional riad to the beautiful guesthouse that stands today.

Indeed, Riad Laksiba pays careful attention to its Moroccan history: the beautiful hand-carved arches and columns in sable-de-la-mer and tadelakt are influenced by the Kasbah Mosque and the Saadian Tombs and solid Cedarwood doors and windows with hand carved Berber motifs. Expect terracotta, cedar wood and traditional tadelakt plaster throughout.

The five en-suite bedrooms are finished with polished cream plaster walls, terracotta floors, and ethnic rugs and all enjoy the modern comfort of Air-conditioning and an en-suite wet-room, good pressure, showers. All beds have been hand carved specifically for Riad Laksiba, twin beds in each room – pushed together to make doubles when required, with firm mattresses and hand weaved stripey covers in cream, beige and chocolate.

Quiet salon areas outside four of the five en-suite bedrooms to give guests quite individual space to enjoy sumptuous breakfasts, mint tea and discuss the world. Guests can also keep in touch through the free WiFi or relax and read one of the many books and novels scattered around the riad.

The Splash Pool on the ground floor courtyard offers a respite from the heat of the day and acts as a natural acclimatisation to the common areas.

The south facing roof terrace has sun lounger’s and also an essential, summertime, cold water shower and great “chill out” furnishings for shisha-pipe star gazing in the evenings. During the winter the terrace boasts excellent views of the Mighty snow-capped Atlas Mountains.

Base prices are in £Sterling.: Euro, USD and Moroccan dirham rates will vary by exchange rate.

Marrakech offers a plethora of activities, sights, excursions for all abilities and interests. Most can be arranged during your stay at Riad Laksiba. This has the advantages of considering the weather and conditions associated to your suggestions but also the general well-being of you and members of your group. Sun stroke and poorly tummies cannot be pre-booked but may play a part in the dates you choose to go on an adventure.

Here at Hip Marrakech we also offer a variety of excursion and tours in and around Marrakech from day trips to the Atlas Mountains to day trips to the desert. Here are a few examples of the trips and excursions we offer:

The Grand Tour
The Grand Tour circuit packs in as much as it is possible to see in a day from Marrakech. You will first drive up the picturesque Ourika valley passing numerous Berber villages before climbing up the ski station at Oukamdem. Your route then descends into the side Fers Valley, down to Asni and up to Imlil. Finally return to Marrakech via Asni and Tahanoute.

Price: £115 for 1 to 4 people
Duration: A day trip of approximately 10 hours

Essaouira
Previously known by its Portuguese name Mogador, a fortress still commands the entrance to the harbour and the Medina itself has walled ramparts. Essaouira is usually much cooler than Marrakech and can be windy at times, it is no coincidence that the world wind surf championships are held here.

Price: £92 for 1 to 4 people
Duration: A day trip of approximately 10 hours

Toubkal Ascent Trek

Mount Toubkal is the second highest peak in Africa and the highest in North Africa. At an altitude of 4,167m climbing Toubkal is a fantastically rewarding challenge. The ascent of Toubkal isn't technical so as long as you are reasonably fit you stand a decent chance of making it to the top.

Price: For a group of 2 people €294 May to Oct. and €348 Nov. to April
Duration: A Trip of 2 Days and 1 Night

Even if you are not booking your accommodation through Hip Marrakech, you can book your trip an excursion with us here.

You can also book trips and excursions via the free Hipmarrakech App. The Hipmarrakech App also gives 10% discount at selected restaurants and shops and provides a map of Marrakech which does not require data roaming so you can navigate the Medina without getting lost and always being able to find your Hipmarrakech Riad or Hipmarrakech Hotel.

"I stayed at Riad Laksiba from the 19th-26th July as part of a group so we had the whole Riad to ourselves. I was a little apprehensive at first about visiting Morocco as it was not somewhere that I had ever thought of visiting previously and I did not make the booking. However, as soon as we entered the Riad any worries I had completely disappeared. We were welcomed by the lovely staff with big smiles who made us feel welcomed straight away with mint tea and a rundown of what Morocco had to offer. The Riad is beautifully finished and just has a feel of serenity about it. The open roof with the sun shining down into the Riad is lovely, especially as little birds fly in and out and you look up and see beautiful blue skies. The rooms are a good size, clean and well presented and the ensuites are also lovely. The roof terrace was one of my favourite places to chill at the Riad although the intense heat sometimes had me running inside for cover!

Breakfast consisted of breads, eggs, cakes, fresh juice, tea, coffee and the most delicious pancakes that I have ever tasted which resulted in us fighting over them each morning. There was plenty of things to do which the staff helped us arrange and they came with us on a couple of trips. One of our trips was to the Atlas mountains where we saw a beautiful waterfall and swam in the lovely fresh water. I will never forget that day and I'm sure Abde (one of the staff who accompanied us) will never forget it either :)."

"I had never previously visited Marrakech, Morocco and I found that staying in Riad Lakisba enabled my friends and I to experience the cultural change fully. The intricate details within the doors, walls and furnishings make the aesthetics of the Riad very special indeed. It is evident upon entry that you are welcomed into the Riad Laksiba family with open arms and it would be difficult not to call the staff your friends, by the end of your visit. With the staff and Simon's extensive knowledge of the local surroundings, history and points of specific interest, you can achieve more than you could have ever expected. The food at the Riad was faultless and staying at the Riad contributed towards one of the best cultural experiences my friends and I have ever had. The room was kept at perfect temperature with the air conditioning unit and the en suite accompanied the bedroom perfectly.
I fully recommend Riad Laksiba to travellers, families and friends who want to get the most out of their time in Marrakech with memories which will stay with you forever and leave you no other option except from visiting again."

"Definitely book a Riad when staying in Marrakech. Riad Laksiba has great service, DELICIOUS food offerings with hefty portions, a refrigerator filled with cold beverages (much needed in the hot months), and nice rooms with comfortable beds and private bathrooms. The staff spoke English very well and helped my friend and I plan the rest of our Moroccan vacation. The staff can also give you input on how to negotiate prices for goods at the souks.
Free Breakfast. Free WiFi. Great experience."

"The free Hipmarrakech App has proved amazing for our clients. It gives them confidence to navigate the medina knowing they can always find their way back our house, even with NO data roaming switched on. Further it locates many restaurants in Marrakech that our guests like (some of which give discounts to those with the App), and then helps them find their way back to the riad easily. Further, they can also book excursions in or around Marrakech at short notice."
