Eight En-suite Guest Rooms
This elegant Riad Sapphire is situated in the northern reaches of the ancient Marrakech Medina, within walking distance of the world famous Jemaa el Fnaa square and ideally situated to enjoy many of the local sites.
The riad is designed and decorated to a high standard throughout in a cool, chic style with simple, elegant furnishings all finished with a touch of luxury.
The owners have ensured that the skills of local Marrakchi artisans have been put to good use ensuring that the traditional riad retains a recognisable Moroccan aesthetic. At the same time, they have added a modern twist to traditional design: lampshades were custom-ordered, woodwork was all handmade (including a very handsome lattice screen called a menzeh), fabrics were hand-woven and made up into drapes, and a typical Moroccan metal railing was rendered in modern glass with the traditional design etched in.
The riad features 8 beautifully designed suites, 2 marble courtyards and large pool. Sapphire also offers many opportunities to relax and unwind with a large bright salon with fireplace and a huge roof terrace with views over the medina and to the snow capped Atlas Mountains beyond.
Eco-credentials include solar panels for hot water, heating the swimming pool and hammam. Locally sourced organic toiletries are provided in the suites and the on-site spa, including hammam.

This double/triple suite on the ground floor has beautiful arched windows and French doors giving lots of light. Opens onto the small courtyard with wall fountain and marble floor.

Amethyst junior suite
Double or Twin room, with one extra bed on request.
This double/triple suite on the ground floor opens onto the main courtyard with marble floor and its central fountain and the larger-than-average pool. The suite has beautiful arched windows covered in mouchareb (the beautiful hand-turned wooden screens) and French doors giving lots of light.

Peridot standard suite

This double suite on the upper floor overlooks the small courtyard with its greenery and cascading wall fountain. Lovely shades of green in the cushions, window blinds and the comfortable soft furnishings - a sensory treat.

Ebony standard suite

A beautiful double/triple suite on the upper floor complete with a lovely menzeh – a traditional Moroccan alcove with latticed woodwork. Hand-sculpted plasterwork gives a distinctly classical Moroccan feel. This suite overlooks the main courtyard with its marble floor, central fountain and pool.

Cinnabar luxury suite

Located on the upper floor overlooking our small courtyard, this double/triple luxury suite is richly decorated in warm shades of red. The crisp white walls and neutral grey tadelakt floor create a calming ambience – modern yet Moroccan. This suite has its own wood-burning fireplace making it a supremely comfortable home-away-from-home.

The fabulous domed ceiling and romantic four-poster queen-sized bed make this a fabulous suite to wake up in the morning. This double/triple/quadruple superior suite on the upper floor has lots of space. Suitable for families and couples.

Decorated in soft shades of lemon, this double superior suite is cool and comfortable. On the upper floor, this luxury suite overlooks our small courtyard with its lovely water feature and has a window to the arcade overlooking the large courtyard. Breakfast consists of fresh orange juice, fruit salad and homemade yogurt, crêpes, bread, preserves, eggs, mint tea, tea and coffee.
Lunch: staff can prepare meals or snacks cooked with fresh ingredients from the market. We are also happy to recommend and book restaurants for you, as there is a large variety nearby.

Essaouira
Previously known by its Portuguese name Mogador, a fortress still commands the entrance to the harbour and the Medina itself has walled ramparts. Essaouira is usually much cooler than Marrakech and can be windy at times, it is no coincidence that the world wind surf championships are held here.

Imlil, High Atlas
Also highly recommended is a trip to the high Atlas village of Imlil, gateway to the magnificent Jbel Toubkal crowning wonder of the Atlas range and the tallest mountain in North Africa.

Toubkal Ascent Trek
Mount Toubkal is the second highest peak in Africa and the highest in North Africa. At an altitude of 4,167m climbing Toubkal is a fantastically rewarding challenge. The ascent of Toubkal isn't technical so as long as you are reasonably fit you stand a decent chance of making it to the top.
