"Nominated on top one hundred hotels of the world..."

The Kasbah Bab Ourika has a total of fifteen rooms and suites. In 2011, it was awarded the Fodders Top one hundred hotels of the World, which is an amazing achievement. Kasbah Bab Ourika is perched majestically on a hilltop at the apex of the Ourika Valley, guarding the gateway to the snow-capped Atlas Mountains, and yet is less than 1 hour from Marrakech's International airport. With 360 degree panoramic views, this innovative new hotel receives warm sunlight all day, ending in spectacular sunsets, and from its unique eyrie-like position offers a birds eye view of the Atlas, traditional Berber villages and the lush river valley below.
The Kasbah has been constructed principally in rammed earth, the traditional Berber building technique. This method ensures environmentally sound insulation which takes away the need for energy intensive appliances such as airconditioning. The Kasbah's hot water supply is heated by solar panels and there is a programme established to generate its own electricity and to assist the community with projects funded by the hotel for the benefit of local schools and villages.
Guests can relax in individually decorated rooms with stunning terraces and views, or by the swimming pool in the Kasbah's magnificent hill top gardens. Eat bio fresh locally sourced food, take advantage of the nearby horticultural and Saffron farms, visit the large Monday Berber market at nearby Tnine Ourika, hike, trek, ski or ride in the scenic mountains, or drive 45 minutes to the heart of the vibrant Marrakech Medina to shop.
Bab Ourika offers the unique Moroccan experience, combining all the pleasures and conveniences of modern life with a truly relaxing and invigorating holiday in the Berber mountains.
